Ranveer Singh's action-packed spy thriller, "Dhurandhar," has taken the box office by storm, achieving a monumental feat in Hindi cinema. Released on December 5, 2025, and directed by Aditya Dhar, the film has grossed over ₹1160 crore worldwide, establishing itself as a commercial success.
In its theatrical run of 29 days, "Dhurandhar" has become the highest-grossing Indian film of 2025, and the second-highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. The film has surpassed several major Bollywood hits and has emerged as one of the most profitable ventures of the year.
Domestically, "Dhurandhar" has earned ₹926.21 crore gross. Overseas, the film has raked in ₹237.84 crore. According to Sacnilk, the India net collection of the movie stands at Rs 747.75 crore.
"Dhurandhar" has consistently broken records throughout its run. In its opening week, it collected ₹207.25 crore, followed by ₹253.25 crore in the second week. The film continued its strong performance in the subsequent weeks, earning ₹172 crore in week three and an estimated ₹106.5 crore in week four. Notably, "Dhurandhar" is the first Hindi film to maintain double-digit earnings for 25 consecutive days. The film also became the first Indian movie to earn over ₹100 crore in its fourth week, setting a new benchmark.
The film stars Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R Madhavan in key roles. Saumya Tandon, Rakesh Bedi, Manav Gohil, Gaurav Gera, and Naveen Kaushik were also cast in significant roles.
Despite receiving mixed reviews from critics, "Dhurandhar" has resonated with audiences, with strong word-of-mouth contributing to its commercial success. However, the film has also faced criticism for mixing fact and fiction, with some critics labeling it as propaganda. It also received an A (adults only) certificate from the CBFC for strong violence. The film was also de facto banned across the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
Looking ahead, a sequel, "Dhurandhar: Part 2," is scheduled to be released on March 19, 2026. With the original film's continued success, the sequel is highly anticipated.
