"Khosla Ka Ghosla 2" is a sequel to the 2006 film "Khosla Ka Ghosla", a comedy-drama about a middle-class Delhiite, Kamal Kishore Khosla (played by Anupam Kher), and his family's attempt to reclaim their land from a builder, Kishan Khurana (Boman Irani). The original film, directed by Dibakar Banerjee, was a critical and commercial success, winning the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi.
The sequel will see the Khosla family coming together, with the help of some allies, to outsmart the corrupt Khurana and reclaim their property. While Dibakar Banerjee will not be directing this time, Umesh Bisht, who previously directed "Pagglait", has been brought in to helm the project.
The original "Khosla Ka Ghosla" featured Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Parvin Dabas, Vinay Pathak, Ranvir Shorey, and Tara Sharma. The film is a satire on property scams, and revolves around Kamal Kishore Khosla, a middle-class retiree in Delhi who dreams of building a home for his family. His dreams are shattered when a cunning real estate dealer named Kishan Khurana fraudulently occupies the land Khosla had purchased. The film is known for its unique blend of comedy and dark humor.

Ghai said that as Dilip Kumar filmed his first shot with Kher, he predicted that Kher was going to stay in the industry for a long time. Ghai also praised Kher's versatility as an actor and his hunger to do quality work.
