Deepika Padukone is beaming with pride over her husband Ranveer Singh's recent box office success, "Dhurandhar". The action-packed spy thriller has crossed ₹1200 crore worldwide, achieving blockbuster status and garnering praise from audiences and Bollywood celebrities alike.
Padukone's reaction came during an intimate pre-birthday meet and greet with fans in Mumbai on December 4th. She wore a plum-colored woollen cord set. During the event, she candidly discussed her films and personal life. When Padukone asked the audience if they had seen "Dhurandhar," the resounding "yes" prompted a beaming smile and visible pride. Overwhelmed, she flipped her hair and cheered, openly celebrating her husband's achievement.
A video clip of Padukone's reaction quickly went viral, drawing admiration from fans. Comments flooded social media, with fans calling her a "proud and supportive wife". One fan wrote, "This is so cute. Obviously, she's happy about his success". Another comment read, "She said, 'That's my man'". When the host jokingly suggested they were discussing other films as well, Padukone quipped, "It's all in the family".
"Dhurandhar," which was released in December 2025, stars Singh as Hamza, an Indian spy infiltrating Pakistan's underworld. The film, which also features R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Akshaye Khanna, and Sanjay Dutt, has been lauded for its strong word-of-mouth and connection to real-world geopolitical events, including the 1999 IC-814 hijacking. The film has collected ₹1,207 crore in 31 days, surpassing "KGF 2". According to the makers, "Dhurandhar" has earned over ₹800 crore at the Indian box office, making it the first Bollywood film to reach this milestone.
Padukone had previously praised Singh's performance on Instagram, writing, "Dhurandhar has been watched, and it is worth every minute of those 3.34 hours… So incredibly proud of you @ranveersingh! Congratulations to the entire cast and crew".
During the fan event, Padukone also shared her excitement for "Dhurandhar Part 2," which is set to release in March. When the host hinted that waiting for the next installment might take longer than expected, Padukone clarified, "It's March! It's already announced".
Padukone's birthday celebration was particularly special for some fans. She paid for flights for 50 fans and gifted them expensive hampers. She also agreed to help a fan fulfill her dream of visiting Paris and offered support to another fan struggling with mental health. Padukone also provided an update on "The Intern" remake, stating that the makers are waiting for the right time to move forward with the project because films like this are currently not performing well at the box office.
