Chef arrested after spitting on flatbreads, sparking food safety concerns and outrage.

Ghaziabad police have arrested a cook after a video surfaced showing him allegedly spitting on chapatis before baking them at a roadside eatery. The incident occurred at a food outlet near the Vardhman Puram police outpost on the Delhi-Meerut Road, under the Madhuban Bapudham police station area.

According to police reports, some customers noticed the cook spitting on the dough and chapatis and recorded a video of the act. The video was then widely circulated on social media platforms. Police traced and arrested the accused on Thursday evening. The cook has been identified as Javed Ansari, a resident of Muradnagar town. Following his arrest, police confirmed that he has been charged under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for contaminating food and potentially spreading dangerous diseases.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Kavinagar) Suryabali Maurya stated that the eatery, named 'Chicken Point' (also referred to as 'A-One Chicken Point'), is owned by a man named Waseem. Authorities are investigating whether the owner was present at the outlet when the incident occurred and are also examining the validity of the eatery's license. Reports have been sent to food safety and health departments for appropriate legal action against the eatery owner.
