The police station in-charge, Shiva Agarwal, explained that the idea stemmed from a desire to give back to society and change the public perception of the police. Agarwal, drawing from his own experience teaching students while preparing for competitive exams, wanted to soften the fear often associated with law enforcement. "People are scared of police. When children study here, they and their parents see a different face of the police," Agarwal told TOI. He also noted the positive impact on the officers themselves, stating that watching the children study within the police station is a significant stress reliever.

What started with teaching a small group of children on sheets has now evolved into a structured class setting with nearly 100 students from Class 1 to higher grades. Three teachers are involved in educating the children. The curriculum covers a range of subjects, effectively turning the police station into a place of learning and hope for the local community.

This initiative addresses two key issues: providing educational opportunities for underprivileged children and fostering a positive relationship between the police and the community.
