Delhi Police have apprehended three alleged shooters belonging to the Himanshu Bhau gang for their involvement in an attempted murder in northwest Delhi's Bawana area. The operation, conducted on Saturday, January 10, 2026, led to the arrest of Punit alias Ankit (23) and Aniket (21), both residents of Jhajjar, Haryana, and Mohit (24), from Sultanpur Dabas in northwest Delhi.
According to police reports, the accused were planning to kill a man to avenge a previous murder. The intended target was Yamin alias Chandu, a resident of Sultanpur Dabas, who was attacked on December 8, 2025, due to a long-standing personal enmity. The hit was allegedly ordered by Vicky alias Haddal, a key member of the Himanshu Bhau gang currently operating from abroad, to avenge the murder of his uncle, Dharambir, who was allegedly killed by Yamin's nephew.
During the arrest, the Delhi Police recovered one pistol and three live cartridges from each of the accused. Additionally, a stolen motorcycle was seized from Mohit.
The Himanshu Bhau gang has been active since 2020 and has been involved in serious crimes such as murder, kidnapping, and extortion. In February 2025, the Delhi Police invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against the gang due to their continued engagement in illegal activities. Interpol has also issued a red-corner notice against Himanshu Bhau.
In November 2025, the Delhi Police arrested Ankit, another member of the Himanshu Bhau gang, after an exchange of fire in Najafgarh. Ankit, who had a reward of ₹25,000 on his head, was involved in a shooting incident on October 28 where Rohit Lamba was targeted. During the arrest attempt, Ankit fired at the police, injuring a constable, before being apprehended.
The recent arrests highlight the ongoing efforts by the Delhi Police to crack down on organized crime and dismantle gangs operating in the city. The apprehension of these three shooters is a significant step in curbing the activities of the Himanshu Bhau gang and preventing further acts of violence.
