Navsari, Gujarat – In a disturbing incident, eight individuals have been apprehended in Gujarat's Navsari district for allegedly gang-raping a 15-year-old girl. The incident has sparked outrage in the region.

According to reports, the minor girl, a resident of a village in Vansda taluka, left her home on the night of January 7, 2026, to relieve herself. At that time, three unknown youths reportedly accosted her, covering her mouth and abducting her on a motorcycle.

The perpetrators then allegedly called an accomplice, arranging for a car. The victim was taken to a check dam near the village, where other individuals were waiting. Subsequently, she was moved to Pipalkhed village and confined in a dark, locked room near a water tank, where the sexual assault occurred. After the crime, the accused fled, leaving the girl behind.

Despite the trauma, the girl walked back home early the next morning. Finding the house locked, she waited outside and recounted the ordeal to her father. The family then informed the village sarpanch and relatives, after which the victim's mother filed a complaint at the Vansda police station.

Police have registered a case under the POCSO Act and for gang rape, initiating a comprehensive investigation. Authorities identified all eight accused, including one minor: Nikhil, Piyush, Uday, Sahil, Ravindra, Akash, and Rahul. The Navsari LCB police are assisting the Vansda police in the investigation, underscoring the seriousness of the case.
