Manish Malhotra, a veteran designer and now producer who has worked across three generations of Hindi cinema, emphasizes the importance of adaptability and collaboration in today's filmmaking environment. He has worked with both established stars and their children, including Chunky Panday and his daughter Ananya Panday, Sridevi and her daughter Janhvi Kapoor, and Shah Rukh Khan and his daughter Suhana Khan. Malhotra believes that the traditional creative hierarchies are no longer effective.

Malhotra dismisses common assumptions about entitlement often associated with Gen Z actors and star kids. He stresses that professionalism on set has rarely been an issue in his experience, and that younger actors are invested in their work and open to learning. He sees in them "a strong sense of self and a real desire to be part of the creative process, not just the end result".

Malhotra views his role as a "bridge," connecting the classic language of Hindi cinema with the contemporary visual and cultural language that resonates with the younger generation. He believes that this approach fosters a more open, collaborative, and creatively vibrant industry.

He highlighted that if you want to move ahead with time, you have to listen and evolve. This shift, according to Malhotra, has changed the way films are made.

Notably, Suhana Khan is set to appear alongside her father, Shah Rukh Khan, in the upcoming film 'King', directed by Sujoy Ghosh. The film is expected to begin production in January 2025 and is anticipated to be released around Eid 2026. Suhana made her acting debut in Zoya Akhtar's 'The Archies', where she portrayed Veronica Lodge.
