IIM Jammu Chairman Leads Indian Delegation at World Economic Forum Meeting in Switzerland

Davos, Switzerland - Milind P. Kamble, Chairman of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu, is set to lead the Dalit Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DICCI) delegation at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland. The annual WEF meeting, scheduled from January 19-21, 2026, will serve as a global platform for showcasing India's entrepreneurial capabilities.

The DICCI delegation, under Kamble's leadership, intends to highlight India's dedication to fostering a robust, inclusive, and innovation-driven economy, aligning with the nation's "Viksit Bharat 2047" ambitions. This participation aims to create opportunities for collaborations and investment, thereby scaling India's entrepreneurial ecosystem.

IIM Jammu Director B. S. Sahay emphasized the importance of such global forums for fostering collaborations, investment links, and knowledge exchange, which are crucial for amplifying India’s entrepreneurial landscape and achieving long-term developmental goals. He conveyed his best wishes to Kamble and the DICCI team, expressing confidence in their ability to strengthen India's entrepreneurial presence on the global stage.

In addition to the DICCI delegation, the WEF meeting will see participation from several Indian states and Union ministers. Ten states, including five represented by Chief Ministers and two by Deputy Chief Ministers, along with four Union ministers, are expected to attend. The Union ministers include Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Ashwini Vaishnaw, Pralhad Joshi, and K Rammohan Naidu. Chief Ministers from Maharashtra, Assam, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh are also slated to participate.

The WEF Annual Meeting 2026 will focus on pivotal global challenges that can be addressed through public-private cooperation. The summit will address cooperation in a contested world, explore new sources of growth, promote better investment in people, deploy innovation responsibly and at scale, and build prosperity within planetary boundaries. The theme for this year's meeting is "a spirit of dialogue".

The event will also host top leaders from various companies, including Bharat Forge, Vedanta, Apollo, Zerodha, Bharti group, Infosys, Wipro, Essar, and Renew. Heads of public sector undertakings such as Indian Oil, GAIL, State Bank of India, NTPC, and REC Ltd will also be in attendance. Assam will participate in the WEF summit for the first time, with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma presenting the state's investment opportunities.
