Suniel Shetty's Pride and Emotion: Ahan Shetty's Border 2 Role After Post-Tadap Struggles Revealed.

Veteran actor Suniel Shetty recently expressed his heartfelt emotions regarding his son, Ahan Shetty's, upcoming film, Border 2. The film is scheduled to be released on January 23, 2026.

During the song launch event for Border 2, Suniel Shetty reflected on Ahan's journey in Bollywood, recalling the challenges Ahan faced after his debut film, Tadap, which was released in 2021. Tadap, a romantic action drama co-starring Tara Sutaria, marked Ahan Shetty's entry into the film industry. The film, directed by Milan Luthria, is a remake of the Telugu film RX 100. While Ahan received the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Male for his performance in Tadap, the film itself had a lukewarm reception at the box office.

Suniel Shetty shared that Ahan experienced a tough period following his initial foray into Bollywood. He noted that people often assume that being Suniel Shetty's son would guarantee a steady stream of opportunities, but the reality was quite different. Ahan had his share of ups and downs and went through a lot.

Ahan himself acknowledged the long and arduous journey since Tadap's release in December 2021. In an Instagram post on December 16, 2025, he described it as a period of patience, growth, and self-belief. He expressed that his return to the screen felt deeply personal and conveyed his gratitude for being entrusted with a powerful film like Border 2.

Border 2 is an epic action war film set against the backdrop of the 1971 India-Pakistan war. It is a sequel to the 1997 film Border. Sunny Deol returns as the central protagonist, with Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty also in the cast. The film expands on its predecessor by showcasing the combined operations of the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy.

Filming took place across various military locations, including Jhansi Cantonment, Babina Cantonment, and the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla. The production aimed for authenticity by utilizing real-world defense installations, including the INS Vikrant, and filming combat sequences in diverse terrains.

Suniel Shetty has spoken about the importance of honesty, integrity, and respect in the film industry, values he has instilled in his children. He emphasized the need to be true to producers and investors, acknowledging their crucial role in the industry.

Suniel is also hosting Bharat Ke Super Founders on Amazon MX Player, a show that highlights the struggles and triumphs of young entrepreneurs. He sees his father's journey and his own experiences reflected in these individuals, which makes the show particularly emotional for him.

As Ahan Shetty prepares for the release of Border 2, Suniel Shetty's emotions are a blend of pride and relief. He has advised his son to give the role his all, believe in the character, and treat people with kindness.
