Ashnoor Kaur's Body Image Struggles and Self-Acceptance: Dieting, Taping, and Finding Peace Within.

Ashnoor Kaur has recently opened up about her long-standing struggle with body image issues and her journey towards self-acceptance, shedding light on the unrealistic beauty standards prevalent in the entertainment industry. The actress, who has been in the public eye since childhood, revealed the pressures she faced and the unhealthy measures she once took to conform to these standards.

Kaur's struggles began long before her appearance on Bigg Boss 19. She recounted an experience where, at the age of 15 or 16, while working on a project, she was told that she looked heavy and needed to lose weight. Despite shooting for 13 hours a day and diligently dieting, she found that her body, which tends to gain weight under stress, was not responding as desired. This led her to resort to extreme measures, including a three-day water diet, in an attempt to shed the perceived excess weight.

The pressure to conform also affected her social life and self-esteem. Kaur admitted that she avoided wearing sleeveless clothes and stopped meeting friends because she felt self-conscious about her body. "I avoided sleeveless clothes and stopped meeting friends because I felt self-conscious," she confessed.

Kaur's journey took a positive turn when she realized that crash diets and punishing her body were not the answer. "Later, I realised I couldn't do crash diets and punish my body. I had to first learn to love myself and then work on my body," she stated. This understanding became a turning point, leading her to prioritize self-love and acceptance as the foundation for a healthy lifestyle.

During her time on Bigg Boss 19, Kaur faced body-shaming remarks from fellow contestants, which brought her past struggles to the forefront. Host Salman Khan addressed the issue, and Kaur shared her experiences, revealing that she had even suffered from eating disorders and would starve herself. "There was a stage where I had eating disorders. I didn't eat, I used to starve," she said. She also mentioned that due to hormonal imbalances, her body tends to bloat under stress. Before entering the Bigg Boss house, she had lost 9 kgs, but her body bloated again due to the stressful environment.

Kaur has been vocal about the unrealistic beauty standards in the industry, emphasizing that "Beauty shouldn't be linked to a certain weight or body measurement". She encourages everyone to love themselves with all their flaws and has learned to take care of herself, understanding that "one needs to run after not allowing things to influence their personality or negatively affect what they look like". She advocates for a healthy lifestyle, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a healthy weight that suits one's body type and height, rather than striving for a "zero figure".

Ashnoor's story serves as an inspiration to many, particularly young girls, who struggle with body image issues. By sharing her experiences, she hopes to help others realize the importance of self-acceptance and self-love in achieving a healthy and positive body image.
