Hong Kong's Kai Thompson's Australian Open junior campaign has come to an end in the quarter-finals. The 17-year-old, who is currently unseeded, faced a tough challenge against No. 8 seed Zangar Nurlanuly of Kazakhstan on January 30.

Thompson's journey to the quarter-finals was marked by impressive victories. In the first round, he defeated Odysseas Geladaris of Greece with a score of 6-2, 7-6(3). He then went on to win against Cooper Kose in the second round. In the round of 16, Thompson faced Matei Tudoran and emerged victorious after a hard-fought match that lasted one hour and 39 minutes, with a final score of 7-6 (13-11), 6-3.
