Aftab Shivdasani is commemorating 25 years of "Kasoor," the legal thriller that marked a significant milestone in his career. The film, which was released on February 2, 2001, continues to hold a special place in the actor's heart.

"Kasoor," directed by Vikram Bhatt and produced by Mukesh Bhatt's Vishesh Films, featured Aftab Shivdasani and Lisa Ray in leading roles. The film also had Apoorva Agnihotri, Irrfan Khan, and Ashutosh Rana in supporting roles. Notably, Divya Dutta dubbed Lisa Ray's voice, while Vikram Bhatt lent his voice to Aftab Shivdasani.

The film garnered critical and commercial success upon its release and was particularly praised for its soundtrack composed by Nadeem-Shravan.

In a recent development, Aftab Shivdasani announced his return with a sequel to "Kasoor,". The new film is described as a psychological horror story. Urvashi Rautela will star as the female lead. The sequel is directed by Glen Barretto and written by Mudassar Aziz, with Bablu Aziz presenting the project. Jassie Gill has also joined the cast.

Producer Asif Shaikh has described the sequel as a unique concept that blends musical romance with horror. Shaikh also expressed his excitement about Aftab Shivdasani's different role in the film.

The first shooting schedule for "Kasoor 2" is underway in Uttarakhand, with locations including Dehradun and Rishikesh. The film is expected to be released in late 2024 or early 2025.
