In a recent interview, Nandish Singh Sandhu, known for his role in the web series "Taskaree: The Smugglers Web," shared his perspective on the public scrutiny faced by actors Varun Dhawan and Kartik Aaryan. He emphasized that actors should not be affected by negative public relations.
Sandhu acknowledged the evolving nature of the film industry, noting changes in casting processes and the emergence of OTT platforms. He highlighted that casting has become more streamlined with the advent of casting directors, allowing more deserving individuals to secure good work. He also spoke about how OTT platforms have given actors more opportunities.
When asked about the trolling faced by Varun Dhawan and Kartik Aaryan, Sandhu suggested that negative PR could stem from parties lacking genuine substance to showcase. He also mentioned hearing rumors that Dhawan and Aaryan might be orchestrating these campaigns themselves, and jokingly expressed his desire to meet their "genius" teams if that were the case. He implied that, regardless of the source, the discussions surrounding these actors keep them relevant in the public eye.
Sandhu, who has been active in the industry for nearly two decades, has transitioned from television to films and now to OTT platforms. His performance as Ravindra Gujjar in "Taskaree" has been widely appreciated. He believes that in a story, the character speaks louder than the star, and he trusts directors like Neeraj Pandey to prioritize the narrative above all else.
Reflecting on his role in "Taskaree," Sandhu revealed that he was initially unaware of the depth and beauty of his character's arc. He credited the direction, editing, and background music for enhancing his performance. He also mentioned meeting real-life customs officers to prepare for his role, gaining valuable insights into their experiences and the situations they face.
Sandhu expressed his desire to explore opportunities in Punjabi and South Indian cinema, praising the organic content produced in the South. He also mentioned another upcoming Netflix series after "Taskaree".
Earlier, Varun Dhawan had playfully "trolled" Kartik Aaryan on an Instagram video, sparking humorous exchanges between the two.
