In a notable shift for the highly anticipated sequel, Dhurandhar 2, the music rights have transitioned from Saregama to T-Series. This move signals a fresh musical direction for the Ranveer Singh-led spy action thriller, which is slated to hit theaters on March 19, 2026.
Dhurandhar, which saw its music launched under the Saregama label, achieved unprecedented success with its soundtrack. The film made history by becoming the first-ever Bollywood film to have its entire soundtrack debut in the Spotify Global Top 200. Shashwat Sachdev composed the soundtrack and film score for the first installment, incorporating both original compositions and revamped classics.
According to The Hollywood Reporter India, industry insiders suggest that the soundtrack of Dhurandhar 2 is already generating considerable buzz. Sources quoted in the report describe it as a "massive chartbuster soundtrack" with fabulous responses from the film team. Another insider added that the album would maintain the musical diversity that proved successful in the first film.
The shift in music label arrives amidst high expectations for Dhurandhar 2. The film is expected to delve deeper into the backstory of Ranveer Singh's spy character, expanding on the narrative introduced in the first installment. The storyline will incorporate flashbacks into the present-day narrative, aiming to provide a more comprehensive conclusion to the two-part saga.
Adding to the anticipation, the makers of the film, including Jio Studios, director Aditya Dhar, and Ranveer Singh, teased an upcoming announcement on February 2, with the reveal scheduled for February 3. While the specifics of the announcement were initially under wraps, fans speculated the release of a teaser or promotional material. The film is now officially titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
Dhurandhar, released in December 2025, was a major commercial success, crossing ₹1,000 crore worldwide within weeks. The film featured an ensemble cast including Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R. Madhavan.
Besides the change in music label, the digital streaming partner has also changed. Jio Hotstar has acquired the digital rights for Dhurandhar 2 across all languages for a significant price. The satellite rights are held by the Star Group, with the film set to air on Star Gold in Hindi and Star Maa in Telugu.
Dhurandhar 2 is jointly produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios. The film will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
