Ranveer Singh is back with a bang in the teaser for "Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge," a sequel to the blockbuster "Dhurandhar". The teaser promises a more intense and action-packed storyline, with Singh reprising his role as Indian intelligence agent Hamza Ali Mazari/Jaskirat Singh Rangi.
The sequel delves deeper into the character of Hamza, exploring his origins and how he transformed into a deadly spy operating undercover in Karachi. He is tasked with infiltrating criminal syndicates and political power structures to dismantle a terror network threatening India. The teaser showcases Singh in a ruthless avatar, unleashing chaos and destruction, particularly in the streets of Lyari. His character delivers a powerful voiceover, declaring, "Yeh naya Hindustan hai, yeh ghar mein ghusega bhi aur maarega bhi".
Directed by Aditya Dhar, "Dhurandhar" was a massive success, grossing over ₹1,300 crore worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. The film shattered existing Bollywood records, earning over ₹1,000 crore in India alone.
"Dhurandhar: The Revenge" is slated for a grand release on March 19, coinciding with Eid, Gudi Padwa, and Ugadi. It will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. However, it will face tough competition at the box office, clashing with Yash's "Toxic," which is also scheduled for release on the same date.
The film boasts a stellar cast, including Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, R Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi, alongside Ranveer Singh.
The teaser has already generated significant buzz, with early reviews describing it as "thrilling & mindblowing". The deeper exploration of Ranveer Singh’s character is anticipated to be one of the most significant narrative changes in "Dhurandhar 2".
Following the success of "Dhurandhar," there were reports of Singh exiting Farhan Akhtar's "Don 3," with speculation that his commitment to "Dhurandhar: The Revenge" may have been a factor.
