Ujjain, India – In a display of deep faith, Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has visited the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain twice in the past 20 days. His recent visit on February 10, 2026, follows a previous visit on January 21, 2026. Each time, the actor sought blessings from Lord Mahakal.
Shetty has publicly stated that the primary reason for his visits is to offer prayers for the success and well-being of his family, particularly concerning his son Ahan Shetty's career. Ahan is starring in the upcoming film "Border 2," and Suniel has been actively seeking divine blessings for the film's success. Speaking to the media, Shetty attributed the success of "Border 2" to the blessings of Baba Mahakal, expressing his gratitude for the positive reception of the film. He also expressed his hope that Baba Mahakal's blessings would continue to be upon his family.
During his visits, Suniel Shetty was seen participating in temple rituals and offering prayers with deep devotion. On his earlier visit, he was observed sitting in the Nandi hall, engrossed in prayer. He has also been seen chanting "Jai Shree Mahakal".
The Mahakaleshwar Temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, considered the most sacred abodes of Lord Shiva. The temple holds immense significance for devotees, and Ujjain has become a frequent destination for celebrity pilgrimages. Priests at the temple, such as Pandit Ashish Pujari and Pandit Dinesh Pujari, noted that Suniel Shetty is a devout follower of Baba Mahakal. They mentioned his frequent visits to Ujjain whenever he gets the opportunity.
Adding to his spiritual journey, Shetty also visited the Kal Bhairav Temple in Ujjain following his prayers at Mahakaleshwar. According to religious beliefs, Kal Bhairav is the divine commander of Baba Mahakal, and visiting the Kal Bhairav Temple after praying at the Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga is believed to bring spiritual fulfillment and blessings.
Suniel Shetty's dedication to his faith is evident through his repeated visits to the Mahakaleshwar Temple. In January 2024, Suniel visited the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi. His public display of faith resonates with many of his fans and followers.
"Border 2," directed by Anurag Singh, is generating significant buzz. The film features Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. The movie is inspired by the true events of the 1971 India-Pakistan War.
