The perplexing case of Sonam Raghuvanshi, the 24-year-old woman suspected of involvement in her husband Raja Raghuvanshi's murder during their honeymoon in Meghalaya, has taken a dramatic turn. After being reported missing, Sonam was located in Uttar Pradesh, and her first call to family painted a picture of fear and vulnerability. According to her father, Devi Singh, Sonam's cousin Govind informed him that she had been found at a hotel in Uttar Pradesh. Devi Singh recalls Govind telling him that Sonam was crying a lot and pleading, "Bhaiya mujhe bacha lo (brother save me)."

The couple, who had married just a month prior, were reported missing while traveling in Sohra, Meghalaya. Concerns arose when family members couldn't reach them, prompting a large-scale search operation involving various agencies. Tragically, Raja's body was discovered last Monday in a gorge below the Wei Sawdong Falls. Until recently, Sonam's whereabouts were unknown.

Meanwhile, investigations into Raja's death have intensified, with police considering Sonam a prime suspect along with 21-year-old Raj Kushwaha, who has been arrested. Authorities are seeking transit remand to bring Sonam back to Meghalaya for interrogation, as they believe her involvement in planning the crime cannot be ruled out. Alongside Raj Kushwaha, Vishal Singh Chauham (22) and Akash Rajput (19) have also been arrested.

Raja's mother, Uma Raghuvanshi, revealed that Sonam had stayed with the family for four days after the wedding and had encouraged Raja to take her to Shillong. Uma mentioned that Sonam had convinced Raja to book the tickets, and their family was unaware of their travel plans.

The family had conducted a background check on Sonam, and her father had described her as someone who went to work and returned home without much socializing. Uma noted that after the marriage, Sonam mostly stayed on the top floor of their home, limiting interactions with the family. The unfolding narrative presents a complex web of relationships, motives, and unanswered questions that investigators are working to untangle.
