YES Bank is set to revise its service charges for various accounts, effective October 1, 2025. These revisions impact both merchant and salary accounts, including specific changes to debit card fees, ATM transaction limits, and account reclassification policies.

Changes to Salary and Defense Accounts

The revised fee structure primarily affects customers holding Smart Salary and YES Vijay accounts, including their Advantage, Exclusive, Defense Pension, and Agniveer variants. These changes include:

  • Debit Card Fees: RuPay debit cards will be provided to Smart Salary Advantage account holders for a joining fee of ₹199. For Smart Salary Exclusive and higher variants, Engage or Explore debit cards will have conditional fee waivers. Renewal and joining fees are waived if a minimum monthly salary credit or an average monthly balance of ₹10,000 is maintained.
  • ATM Transactions: In metro locations, customers have up to three free ATM transactions per month at other banks, while non-metro areas allow up to five free transactions. Beyond these limits, financial transactions will be charged ₹23 per transaction, and non-financial transactions will incur a ₹10 charge. International cash withdrawals will cost ₹150 per transaction, and balance inquiries will be charged ₹20.
  • Account Reclassification: Salary accounts will continue to be treated as zero-balance accounts, provided monthly salary credits are received. However, if salary credits are not deposited for three consecutive months, the account may be reclassified as a regular savings account, with non-maintenance charges potentially reaching up to ₹750.
  • YES Vijay Accounts: YES Vijay account holders will receive Element and Engage debit cards free of charge. Free cash transactions are limited to ₹1 lakh or two transactions per month at branches and bunch note acceptors; exceeding this limit will incur a charge of ₹4.5 per ₹1,000 (minimum ₹150). Cheque returns due to insufficient funds will be charged ₹350 for the first instance and ₹750 for subsequent instances.

Changes to Merchant Accounts

Effective October 1, YES Bank is also introducing changes for merchant accounts:

  • Minimum Balance Requirements: Merchant Easy accounts will have a minimum balance requirement of ₹25,000, while Merchant Prime accounts will require ₹50,000. Non-maintenance charges will range from ₹250 to ₹500.
  • Debit Cards: Both Merchant Easy and Merchant Prime accounts will receive Element Business Debit Cards with an annual fee of ₹349.
  • Transaction Fees: Several transaction fees apply, including ₹750 for cheque returns due to insufficient funds and ₹100 for printed statements.
  • Cash Deposit Limits: New cash deposit limits and transaction fees are being introduced.
  • Alternative to AMB Requirements: Monthly throughput from POS, QR, or Soundbox devices can substitute AMB requirements.

Other Revised Charges

Additional changes to service charges include:

  • Cheque returns due to insufficient funds will cost ₹500 for the first instance and ₹750 for subsequent instances.
  • ECS return charges are fixed at ₹550 for the first instance and ₹600 thereafter.

Customers are advised to refer to the YES Bank website or contact YES Bank branches for the latest schedule of charges.
