Bollywood actor Zayed Khan has voiced his strong support for Team India ahead of their highly anticipated clash against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025, emphasizing the unifying power of sports and expressing confidence in the Indian team's chances. The actor believes that sports should be kept separate from politics and that any opportunity to build relationships through sports should be embraced.

Khan stated, "Kyun nahin yaar. Sports sports hote hain. Usme kya hai. Vahan jitne thode bahut sambandh ban sakte hain, banne do,". This translates to, "Why not, man? Sports are sports. What's wrong with that? Let as many relationships as possible be formed there". His comments highlight the potential for cricket, and sports in general, to bridge divides and foster goodwill between nations.

The Asia Cup 2025 is the 17th edition of the tournament and is being held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 9 to 28, 2025. The matches are being played in the Twenty20 International (T20I) format. The tournament features eight teams: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka, who automatically qualified, alongside United Arab Emirates, Oman and Hong Kong.

India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, began their campaign with a nine-wicket victory against the UAE. India will face Pakistan on September 14 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. This will be Suryakumar Yadav's first outing as captain against Pakistan. The two teams could potentially meet multiple times during the tournament, including in the final.

Zayed Khan is highly optimistic about India's chances in the Asia Cup 2025, declaring them a "damn good team" and predicting they will "kick everybody's you know what out of the park". He confidently stated, "India is going to outshine everyone, you know what I mean. I believe India is a fantastic team and mujhe lagta hai ki 100 per cent India jeetne waali hai,". This translates to "I think India is a damn good team and I feel that 100% India is going to win".

The India-Pakistan match is highly anticipated, with fans and experts alike eager to see the two teams clash on the cricket field. The match on September 14 is the sixth match of the Asia Cup 2025. Despite political tensions, Khan believes that sports should remain a platform for fostering connections.

Other matches in the Asia Cup 2025 have already taken place. Pakistan won against Oman by 93 runs. Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by 6 wickets in their Group B match. Sri Lanka will next play Hong Kong on September 15, while Bangladesh will face Afghanistan on September 16.
