The wife of a Finance Ministry official, who died in a recent BMW crash in Delhi, reportedly wanted to be taken to a nearby hospital after the accident, according to FIR details. The incident occurred near the Dhaula Kuan metro station on Sunday afternoon and resulted in the death of Navjot Singh, a Deputy Secretary in the Department of Economic Affairs. His wife, Sandeep Kaur, sustained critical injuries.

The Delhi Police have registered an FIR concerning the incident, citing rash driving and culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The FIR has been lodged under Sections 281 (rash or careless driving endangering human life), 125 B (careless act endangering human life or safety), 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 238 (concealment of evidence or providing false information to protect the offender) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

Eyewitnesses reported that the BMW collided with the central verge before hitting the couple's motorcycle. The BMW was driven by Gaganpreet, and her husband, Parikshit, a businessman from Gurugram, was also in the car. Both sustained injuries and are currently receiving hospital treatment. The BMW is registered to Parikshit Kakkar. The couple is involved in the business of manufacturing leather products.

According to the Delhi Police, instead of transporting the victims to the closest medical facility, the occupants of the BMW drove them approximately 17 to 19 kilometers to a private hospital in GTB Nagar. This hospital, Nulife Hospital, is allegedly linked to an acquaintance of the accused. Navjot Singh's son has questioned why his parents were taken to a hospital so far from the accident site. He stated that his parents were returning from Bangla Sahib Gurudwara when the accident happened. He also alleged that the BMW driver appeared injured but that the hospital has not provided clarity regarding her condition or whereabouts and might be assisting in preparing a false medico-legal certificate for her.

After regaining consciousness, Sandeep Kaur asked the hospital to contact a family friend working at another hospital, who then informed Navjot Singh's son. She was later shifted to Venkateshwara Hospital for better treatment.

The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) and the Crime Branch have inspected the damaged vehicles and the accident site as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities are also investigating the circumstances surrounding the case under Section 238 of the BNS Act, which deals with the disappearance of evidence or providing false information to shield an offender. Police have seized both the BMW and the motorcycle.
