A horrific incident unfolded in Indore on Monday, September 15, 2025, as a speeding truck careened out of control on Airport Road, resulting in at least two fatalities and numerous injuries. The chaotic scene, captured on CCTV and eyewitness accounts, paints a picture of devastation as the truck plowed into pedestrians and multiple vehicles before catching fire.

The incident occurred on a busy stretch of Airport Road near a hospital in the Shikshak Nagar area. According to reports, the truck driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to ram into several vehicles, including e-rickshaws, two-wheelers, and four-wheelers. Eyewitnesses reported that the truck struck people and vehicles indiscriminately. The severity of the impact caused a motorcycle to become trapped under the truck, leading to a fire that quickly engulfed the truck itself. Videos circulating online show the truck ablaze with victims lying injured nearby.

Authorities have confirmed that at least two people died at the scene, and at least nine others sustained injuries. The injured were immediately rushed to Geetanjali Hospital, with local residents assisting in the rescue efforts. The exact number of casualties is still being ascertained.

The driver of the truck has been taken into police custody. According to initial reports, the driver was heavily intoxicated and lost control of the vehicle. He has been sent for a medical examination, and police are planning to interrogate him.

This is not the first time Indore has witnessed such a tragedy. In February 2025, a similar accident in the Manpur area of Mhow tehsil involving a trailer truck, a motorcycle, and a minibus resulted in six fatalities.
