Rajat Bedi has confirmed that there will be a season 2 of Aryan Khan's "The Ba***ds of Bollywood". The actor, who made a comeback to Hindi entertainment with the Netflix series, revealed that writing for the second season is currently underway and hinted that filming may begin next year.
"The Ba***ds of Bollywood," which premiered on September 18, 2025, explores the journey of Aasmaan Singh, an ambitious outsider navigating the glamorous and political world of the Hindi film industry. The first season starred Lakshya in the lead role, alongside Raghav Juyal, Manoj Pahwa, Mona Singh, Gautami Kapoor, Anya Singh, and Sahher Bambba. The series also features special cameos.
Bedi's role as Jaraj Saxena, a man on the fringes of the film industry, has been widely recognized. He told TV9 that his son, Vivaan Bedi, is also involved in the project as an assistant director, making it a family affair.
The show is created, co-written, and directed by Aryan Khan and produced by Gauri Khan under Red Chillies Entertainment. The series has received positive reviews for Khan's direction, story, screenplay, and performances.
The series follows Aasmaan Singh, a young actor whose debut film becomes a hit, landing him a role opposite Karishma Talvar. He must navigate a multi-film contract, interference from Karishma's father, Ajay Talvar, a developing romance, and unforeseen complications. In the series finale, a major plot twist reveals a connection between Ajay and Aasmaan. Producer Freddy Sodawallah and his new partner Jaraj Saxena confront Ajay Talvar and blackmail him into working in a film with Karishma and Aasmaan, titled "The Bastards of Bollywood".
Rajat Bedi shared that Aryan Khan wanted him in "The Ba***ds of Bollywood" because he was a fan of Bedi's role in "Koi... Mil Gaya". Bedi said he was surprised and grateful when Khan reached out to him for the role of Jaraj Saxena.
Bedi, who had been away from the spotlight for more than 15 years, moved to Canada after feeling unsatisfied with his career in Hindi cinema. He said he wasn't seeing the growth he wanted and that the industry was different at that time. He is now making a comeback with "The Ba***ds of Bollywood".
Rajat Bedi also spoke about working with Shah Rukh Khan early in his career. He assisted director Ramesh Sippy on the 1995 film "Zamaana Deewana," which starred Shah Rukh Khan. Bedi expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work with Aryan Khan, whose enthusiasm and excitement he finds similar to his father’s.
