At the TOI Dialogues Uttarakhand 2025, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami highlighted Prime Minister Modi's commitment to the state's progress and addressed the critical issue of climate change. Dhami recalled Modi's statement that the 21st century's third decade would be "Uttarakhand's decade," emphasizing the government's dedication to realizing this vision.
Dhami stressed that since 2014, under Prime Minister Modi's leadership, India has been in a historic phase of renewed pride, with systematic and organized work being carried out. He acknowledged the challenge of climate change, stating it requires a broad vision and collaborative effort. The Chief Minister noted that challenges often arise in areas lacking prior construction and emphasized the government's focus on providing early warnings and reducing response times.
Actor Ashutosh Rana, who is from Uttarakhand, spoke at the dialogue and said that distortion causes more damage than natural forces and that nature is resetting itself. He emphasized the need to guide Uttarakhand toward transformation through change.
At the start of the dialogue, Prasad Sanyal, Times of India Business Head, emphasized the importance of the platform to question, reflect, and reimagine Uttarakhand's future, in addition to celebrating achievements. He expressed the hope that the conversation would translate into action, vision, and lasting impact.
CM Dhami has also emphasized that anarchy will not be tolerated in Uttarakhand. He was speaking in reference to individuals displaying placards reading 'I Love Muhammad', which he called a planned attempt to disturb festivals and public peace. Dhami warned that anyone found damaging government or private property during unrest would be made to pay and face strict action.
Previously, Prime Minister Modi lauded CM Dhami for launching the 'House of Himalayas' brand, reinforcing the 'Vocal for Local and Local for Global' campaign. Modi highlighted the significant progress made in recent years, with over 13 crore people lifted out of poverty in just 5 years, boosting the economy. He also noted infrastructure development projects, like faster village roads and the Delhi-Dehradun expressway, which are creating opportunities for investors. Modi asserted that Uttarakhand has unmatched potential and is emerging as a new brand of empowerment with possibilities in nature, culture, heritage, Ayurveda, and Yoga.
