Telugu actress Dimple Hayathi and her husband, David, are facing serious allegations of harassment, assault, and abuse from their 22-year-old domestic help, Priyanka Bibar. The Film Nagar police in Hyderabad have registered a case against the couple following the complaint.
Priyanka, who hails from the Rayagada district in Odisha, began working at Dimple and David's residence in Vamsiram's Westwood Apartment, Shaikpet, on September 22, 2025. According to her complaint, she was immediately subjected to constant humiliation, verbal abuse, and was even denied proper food. She stated that the couple routinely used abusive language while assigning chores and made demeaning remarks, including one instance where she was told, "Your life is not even equal to my shoes".
The situation reportedly escalated on September 29 after the couple's pet dog began barking. Priyanka alleges that Dimple and David hurled threats at her and her family. Fearing for her safety, she attempted to record their behavior on her mobile phone. David allegedly responded by snatching the phone, smashing it, and attempting to assault her. Priyanka further claimed that her clothes were torn as she escaped the flat with the help of her agent.
Based on Priyanka's complaint, the Film Nagar police have registered a case against Dimple Hayathi and her husband under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including Sections 74, 79, 351(2), and 324(2). These sections relate to assault or criminal force with intent to outrage modesty, word/gesture/act intended to insult the modesty of a woman, criminal intimidation, and mischief.
As of October 1, 2025, neither Dimple Hayathi nor her husband have issued any official statement regarding the allegations. Police have recorded the statement of the victim and are expected to serve notices to the accused to appear for questioning. The investigation is currently ongoing.
This is not the first time Dimple Hayathi and her husband have faced legal trouble. In 2023, they were accused of damaging a vehicle belonging to an IPS officer in Hyderabad's Jubilee Hills. Reports indicate that David accidentally hit the officer's car, and during the ensuing argument with the officer's driver, Dimple allegedly kicked the car. A police complaint was filed in that instance as well.
Dimple Hayathi is known for her work in Telugu and Tamil films. She debuted in the 2017 Telugu film 'Gulf' and has appeared in movies such as 'Ramabanam', 'Veeramae Vaagai Soodum', 'Khiladi', 'Eureka', 'Gaddalakonda Ganesh', and 'Devi 2'. She also acted in the Bollywood film 'Atrangi Re'.
