AAP's jobs and social justice march arrives in Amethi: Seventh day of political advocacy.

Amethi, Uttar Pradesh – The Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) "rojgaar do, samajik nyay do" (give jobs, give social justice) padyatra (foot march), led by Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, reached Amethi on its seventh day, November 18, 2025, continuing its journey through Uttar Pradesh. The march, which began in Ayodhya, aims to highlight unemployment, demand social justice, and challenge the policies of the state government.

The padyatra commenced its seventh day in Sultanpur district at 10 am from Maa Bhagwati Lawn in Utari. The procession moved through Pratapganj Bazaar, Raghav Dhaba, Durgapur Bazaar and Ramganj before arriving at Shyam Vatika in Trisundi, Amethi. Residents greeted the marchers at various points along the route.

Sanjay Singh has been vocal in his criticism of the Uttar Pradesh government, stating that the state has the highest unemployment rate in the country, disproportionately affecting the youth. He added that farmers, weavers, and small-scale industries are also struggling due to a lack of job opportunities. Singh alleges that government policies have negatively impacted small businesses and traditional occupations.

In addition to unemployment, Singh has emphasized that caste-based discrimination remains a significant impediment to social progress in Uttar Pradesh. He asserted that social justice and development cannot be fully achieved until these inequities are addressed. The AAP leader is demanding equality and transparency across all systems, including government functions and recruitment processes. He has also criticized the BJP-led state government regarding alleged irregularities in recruitment exams and paper leaks. Singh highlighted the significant number of vacant posts in various departments, including over 2 lakh in the Education Department, around 50,000 in Health and Medical Services, and over 1 lakh in Police and Security Services.

During the march, Sanjay Singh has also spoken out against what he describes as a "hate-driven politics," advocating for a focus on employment, justice, and welfare. He has cited instances of discrimination against Dalits and backward communities, calling for equal opportunities and dignified livelihoods for all.

The 13-day padyatra, covering approximately 200 kilometers, is scheduled to conclude in Prayagraj. AAP leaders have positioned the march as a mass movement to reclaim constitutional rights and advocate for equal opportunity.
