Bengaluru Tech Summit: Global Participation Signals Strong Investment Interest from World Leaders, Says CM Shivakumar.

Bengaluru, India – The Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025 concluded today, marking a significant milestone in Karnataka's continued prominence on the global technology stage. This year's summit saw participation from nearly 60 nations, drawing in an estimated 50,000 attendees, including representatives from 1,200 major companies, encompassing all 400 Fortune companies. Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar expressed his satisfaction with the event, emphasizing Bengaluru's emergence as a global hub for innovation and talent.

Shivakumar, who also oversees Bengaluru's development, highlighted the state government's commitment to investing over ₹1 lakh crore to upgrade the city's infrastructure. This commitment aims to further solidify Bengaluru's position as a leading technology hub. Addressing the media, Shivakumar conveyed the strong interest global investors have in Bengaluru, stating that many are prepared to invest billions of dollars in the region. He assured delegates of the government's dedication to enabling ease of doing business, stating, "World leaders meet me every day. They want to invest, they want to come to Bengaluru. We will help them in every possible way".

The summit, recognized as Asia's largest technology conclave, was organized by the Department of Electronics, IT & Bt, Government of Karnataka, in partnership with the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI). The event featured discussions and presentations from thousands of speakers over three days, all focused on shaping the future of technology and innovation.

In his address, Shivakumar also acknowledged the rising concerns over cybercrimes and affirmed that the state government has already taken steps to curb such offenses in Bengaluru. He encouraged students to innovate and compete on a global level, promising support for start-up ideas and entrepreneurship.

The Deputy Chief Minister also revealed plans for a new IT city in the Greater Bengaluru region, near Bidadi, to accommodate the growing demand and further expand the city's technological infrastructure. Additionally, he mentioned that the government is planning a second airport for Bengaluru. A dedicated secretariat for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) will also be established to provide better support and coordination.

Ahead of the summit, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar held a breakfast meeting with 200 heads of IT, semiconductor, biotech, electronics, and other startups. During the meeting, CM Siddaramaiah reiterated the government's commitment to fostering innovation, encouraging investment, and supporting sustainable growth.

This year's summit included a focus on B2B meetings to facilitate productive conversations and create more employment opportunities in Karnataka. A new focus track, Electro-Semicon, was introduced to encourage innovation and discussion around new-age technologies. Other key areas included IT and deep tech, biotech and health tech, the startup ecosystem, the Global Innovation Alliance, and the India-USA tech conclave.

The Bengaluru Tech Summit 2025 served as a platform to showcase Karnataka's commitment to technological advancement and its role as a global innovation hub. The state government's focus on infrastructure development, ease of doing business, and support for startups signals a promising future for the region's tech industry.
