Delhi Car Blast Probe: NIA Seals Faridabad Chemical Shops Supplying Explosives to Accused Doctors.

Faridabad Chemical Shops Sealed in Delhi Car Blast Probe

Faridabad, Haryana – In a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the Delhi car bombing near the Red Fort last month, authorities have sealed two chemical shops in Faridabad for allegedly supplying explosive materials to the accused. The action was taken following a request from a committee formed by Sub-Divisional Magistrate Trilok Chand, acting on behalf of the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

The sealed establishments, BR Scientific and Chemicals and Paul Chemicals, are both located at NIT Nehru Ground in Faridabad. According to officials, these shops were found to be in violation of licensing norms. The committee, after inspecting the records, discovered that the shops had stocked chemicals beyond the permitted quantity, misused their trade licenses, and sold chemicals without maintaining buyer records or possessing valid licenses.

The focus on these shops intensified after investigators identified Dr. Muzammil Ahmad Ganaie and Dr. Shaheen Shahid, both linked to Al Falah University, as suspects who allegedly purchased chemicals used for making explosives from these outlets. Following their arrest, NIA teams raided both shops and scrutinized their sales records. Dr. Shaheen was also brought to one of the shops for questioning in the presence of a shopkeeper.

Reportedly, the shopkeeper stated that the high volume of daily customers made it difficult to remember specific individuals. Subsequently, the investigating officer seized the sales register and initiated a thorough probe through the SDM.

The Delhi blast, which occurred on November 10, involved a Hyundai i20 that exploded near the Red Fort, resulting in 12 fatalities and several injuries. The incident is being treated as a terrorist attack under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), with investigators suspecting a connection to a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) module allegedly involving radicalized individuals.

NIA teams had previously conducted raids on November 26 and 27 at the premises of Dr. Muzammil Shakeel Ganie and Dr. Shaheen Saeed within the Al Falah University complex and other locations in Faridabad. These searches led to the recovery of a substantial amount of cash, foreign currency, gold, and other incriminating materials, which are currently under examination to uncover the conspiracy behind the bombing.

Investigations have revealed that Dr. Muzammil had concealed 2,600 kg of ammonium nitrate at a shed behind a mosque near Al-Falah University before moving it to a cleric's house in Fatehpur Taga. He also rented a house in Khori Jamalpur, claiming to start a fruit supply business.

The NIA has so far arrested seven key accused in the blast case. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to determine the full extent of the conspiracy and bring all those involved to justice.
