Following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in the death of 25 Indian nationals and one citizen of Nepal on April 22, the Indian Armed Forces launched "Operation Sindoor," a decisive counter-offensive. This operation involved precision strikes targeting nine identified locations across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied regions of Jammu and Kashmir. These locations were identified as key operational hubs used for plotting and directing attacks on Indian soil.
The military action has received widespread support, including high praise and salutes from various Bollywood celebrities. Many stars took to social media to express their solidarity with the Indian troops.
Actor Riteish Deshmukh was among the first to voice his support. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his patriotism, posting "Jai Hind Ki Sena… Bharat Mata Ki Jai!!! #OperationSindoor,". Acclaimed director Madhur Bhandarkar also lauded the armed forces for their courageous action. Other celebrities including Hina Khan, Nimrat Kaur, Rahul Vaidya, and Abhishek Kumar also joined in expressing their support for the Indian Army.
The government has released footage of the Army bombing terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The operation is aimed at dismantling cross-border terrorist networks.
The term "Operation Sindoor" has also drawn attention to two Bollywood films with the same title.
