The possibility of filming Pathaan 2 in Chile arose following Chilean President Gabriel Boric Font's recent visit to India. During his trip, President Boric met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and engaged with filmmakers in Mumbai to promote Chile as a desirable destination for movie shoots. He extended an invitation to Indian production houses, highlighting Chile's scenic landscapes and filming incentives.

Actor Anshuman Jha, who was present during the discussions, revealed that YRF is seriously considering Chile as a location for Pathaan 2. Jha expressed optimism about the collaboration, emphasizing the opportunity to showcase Chile's beauty to the world through cinema. "There are concrete conversations of Pathaan 2 by Yash Raj Films and Lakadbaggha 3 being shot in Chile next year,” Jha stated. Sources indicate that the Chilean delegation even visited YRF Studios, suggesting that location scouting is already underway.

While specific plot details for Pathaan 2 are closely guarded, it is expected to continue the YRF Spy Universe narrative with larger-than-life action sequences and globe-trotting adventures. Shah Rukh Khan will reprise his role as Pathaan, and there is anticipation that Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, who played pivotal roles in the first film, will also return. While Siddharth Anand directed Pathaan, a new director might helm Pathaan 2.
