Sony YAY! is bringing a wave of Shinchan movie premieres to Indian television screens throughout May 2025. This marks the first time Shinchan movies will be telecast on Indian TV, creating a milestone for fans across the country. Every Saturday and Sunday at 11 a.m., fans can tune in to catch a new Shinchan movie packed with comedy, action, and heartfelt moments.

The movie marathon began on May 10th with 'Shinchan Movie: Burst! Hot Spring Battle!', where a relaxing trip to a hot spring turns into a chaotic adventure. On May 11th, viewers enjoyed 'The Adult Empire Strikes Back', a fan-favorite where Shinchan leads a rebellion against a world ruled by adults. The schedule continues with 'The Battle of the Warring States' on May 17th, plunging Shinchan into ancient Japan for samurai adventures. On May 18th, 'The Kasukabe Animal Kingdom' transforms the city into a jungle playground, testing Shinchan's survival skills. The month wraps up with 'The Spy' on May 24th, a mix of gadgets and giggles, and 'Robot Dad' on May 25th, a heartwarming story of Shinchan's father becoming a robot.

Sony YAY! aims to entertain and revive the magic of classic anime storytelling with this programming. Shinchan, a mischievous five-year-old, has become a favorite among children and adults alike. The channel has built a strong connection with young audiences through iconic characters and light-hearted storytelling.

In addition to the TV premieres, two Shinchan movies will be released in Indian cinemas for the first time. "Shin chan: Our Dinosaur Diary" is set for release in May 2025, followed by "Shin chan: The Spicy Kasukabe Dancers in India" during Diwali in October 2025. Both movies will be available in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Japanese with English subtitles.

Maiko Sumida, Head of Animation Sales & Development at TV Asahi, expressed excitement about bringing Shinchan's adventures to Indian theaters. She hopes the cinematic experience will lead to collaborations and licensing opportunities in India. Sony YAY! is operated by Culver Max Entertainment and launched in April 2017, replacing the Animax channel in India. The channel primarily airs international animated series in numerous Indian languages.
