While the humidity may continue to cause some discomfort, the showers are likely to bring down the maximum temperature, which is expected to hover around 41 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature is expected to settle at approximately 24 degrees Celsius, with a humidity level of 62 percent.
The forecast for Delhi includes a partly cloudy sky with very light to light rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong surface winds. These conditions are expected to provide some relief from the intense heat that the region has been experiencing. Northeast India, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim are also expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, over the next 5-6 days. Gusty winds, ranging between 30 to 50 kmph, are expected to sweep through these regions, increasing the risk of tree falls and minor structural damage.
Isolated heavy rainfall is predicted over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal from May 18 to 20; Kerala, Mahe, Coastal Karnataka, and North Interior Karnataka from May 18 to 24; Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam from May 20-22; Rayalaseema from May 18-20; and South Interior Karnataka from May 18-21.

Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Rayalaseema, Telangana during next 7 days. Isolated heavy rainfall is likely over south Madhya Maharashtra during 18th -23rd; Konkan & Goa during 18th-24th May with very heavy rainfall over Konkan during 20th – 22nd and Madhya Maharashtra on 21st & 22nd 2025.
