In a firm assertion of national resolve, India is actively engaging with the international community to denounce terrorism and ensure that its voice remains strong and clear. As part of this effort, an all-party delegation, led by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, has embarked on an outreach mission to several key countries, vowing that India will not be silenced by terrorism.
Tharoor, along with other MPs, is visiting the United States, Guyana, Panama, Brazil, and Colombia to share India's stance against terrorism. In a video message posted on social media platform X, Tharoor emphasized the importance of speaking up with clarity and conviction for the nation and its response to terrorist attacks. He underscored the delegation's mission to convey to the world that India will not be silenced and that indifference to terrorism should not triumph over truth.
The delegation aims to highlight the values that India stands for, including peace, democracy, and freedom, which Tharoor says must be preserved in the world today. He stressed that India's message is one of peace and hope, standing against hatred, killing, and terror.
This outreach is part of a broader initiative by the Indian government to engage with key partner countries and international bodies to present a united front against terrorism. The government has organized seven all-party delegations comprising 51 political leaders, parliamentarians, former ministers from various parties, and eight former ambassadors to visit 33 global capitals. These delegations will meet with government officials, legislators, think tanks, and media representatives to sensitize public, parliamentary, and legislative opinions toward India's concerns.
The initiative follows the recent Pahalgam terror attack and Operation Sindoor, a cross-border counter-terrorism operation. The delegations are tasked with projecting India's national consensus and resolute approach to combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. They will convey India's strong message of zero tolerance for terrorism.
The all-party delegations reflect a unified Indian front, with members setting aside political differences to represent the nation's interests on the global stage. The goal is to ensure that the international community understands India's perspective and the challenges it has faced for decades due to cross-border terrorism.
Other all-party delegations are visiting countries including Russia, Slovenia, Greece, Latvia, Spain, UAE, Japan, and others. These delegations consist of prominent leaders from various political parties, reaffirming India's zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism. They are also addressing the need for the world to unite against terrorism.
India's proactive engagement with the international community sends a clear message that it will not be deterred by terrorist threats and remains committed to safeguarding its values and interests. The all-party delegation's mission is a testament to India's resolve to combat terrorism and promote peace and security on the global stage.
