Shanaya Kapoor, the daughter of Sanjay Kapoor and Maheep Kapoor, is creating a buzz in Bollywood even before her official debut. While her initial film, 'Bedhadak,' faced shelving, she is now set to appear in multiple projects, generating considerable anticipation among fans. Recently, rumors have sparked about a potential collaboration with Ranveer Singh in an upcoming film, adding fuel to the excitement surrounding her career.
The speculation began when Shanaya, during a recent interview, responded to questions about working with Ranveer Singh with a coy, "Might be...". This ambiguous answer has led many to believe that something is indeed in the works. Given Ranveer Singh's established career and star power, a film with Shanaya would undoubtedly provide a significant boost to her early journey in the industry.
However, details about the project remain scarce. Neither Shanaya nor Ranveer have officially confirmed the collaboration, leaving fans and media outlets to speculate. Some industry insiders suggest that if the project materializes, it could be a Dharma Productions film, given Shanaya's close ties with Karan Johar's production house. Amidst these rumors, Shanaya is already gearing up for her official Bollywood debut with 'Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan', opposite Vikrant Massey. The film, directed by Santosh Singh and produced by Zee Studios and Mini Films, is scheduled to release on July 11, 2025. Based on Ruskin Bond's short story, "The Eyes Have It", the film will feature Shanaya as a theatre artist and Vikrant as a blind musician. The movie encapsulates love, longing, and unspoken emotions.
In addition to 'Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan', Shanaya has several other projects in the pipeline. She will also be seen in the multilingual film 'Vrushabha', alongside Mohanlal, expected to release on October 16, 2025. Furthermore, she is part of Shujaat Saudagar's romantic drama, tentatively titled "JC", alongside Abhay Verma, with filming already underway. Shanaya is also set to star in Bejoy Nambiar's survival thriller 'Tu Yaa Main' with Adarsh Gourav, slated for release on Valentine's Day 2026.
Before venturing into acting, Shanaya gained experience behind the camera as an assistant director on the film 'Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl' (2020), which starred her cousin Janhvi Kapoor. This experience provided her with insights into filmmaking.
As for Ranveer Singh, he is currently occupied with multiple projects, including 'Don 3', directed by Farhan Akhtar. Filming for "Don 3" is scheduled to commence in September 2025, with Vikrant Massey playing the antagonist. The female lead for the film is yet to be confirmed.
