The Indian television industry is rallying around actress Dipika Kakar after her recent announcement that she has been diagnosed with stage 2 liver cancer. Known for her roles in shows like "Sasural Simar Ka" and her appearance on "Celebrity MasterChef India", Dipika shared the news in an emotional Instagram post on May 27, 2025, revealing that a stomach ache led to the discovery of a "tennis ball-sized" tumor in her liver. Subsequent tests confirmed the tumor was malignant.

The news has prompted an outpouring of support from fellow celebrities and fans alike. Among those offering words of encouragement was Rajiv Adatia, a fellow contestant from "Celebrity MasterChef". He took to social media to express his support, writing a heartfelt note to Dipika. His message, which has resonated with many, emphasized Dipika's strength and resilience, reminding her and everyone else that she is, above all, a fighter.

Rajiv's message wasn't just a fleeting comment; it was a reaffirmation of Dipika's character, recognizing her inherent ability to face challenges head-on. He wrote, "Wishing my dearest Dipika a speedy recovery! The strongest and most sweetest person! Allah is with you and will heal you! Everyone, please keep her in your prayers for her speedy recovery. Big hugs." He also commented on Dipika's post, "Always with you Dipika, you are a strong girl and fighter. You will be fine! Sending you so much love and strength."

Dipika's journey began with a seemingly minor stomach ache. According to her husband, Shoaib Ibrahim, they initially thought it was due to acidity. However, when the pain persisted, they consulted a doctor who ordered blood tests. When Dipika's pain returned after a brief period of relief, a CT scan revealed the tumor in her liver. Shoaib has been sharing updates with fans on their YouTube channel, providing details about Dipika's condition and treatment plan. He revealed that Dipika also had a stone in her gallbladder which was causing her tremendous discomfort. Following this, Dipika's sonography was performed, and after multiple tests, they discovered the tumor.

In her Instagram post, Dipika expressed her determination to face this adversity with positivity. "I am all positive and determined to face this and walk out stronger InshAllah! With my entire family being by my side and All the LOVE and PRAYERS pouring in from all of you I will sail through this too! IshaAllah. Keep me in your prayers! Lots of love. Dipika," she wrote.

The diagnosis of stage 2 liver cancer means that the cancer hasn't spread to lymph nodes or other parts of the body. According to medical professionals, there are high chances of cure with surgery. After surgery, genomic testing of the removed tissue is recommended to understand the cancer's behavior and potential risk of recurrence.

Amidst the challenges, Dipika's family, including her husband and their two-year-old son Ruhaan, have been a constant source of support. Shoaib shared that Ruhaan has been behaving "sensibly" and understands that his mother is not well.

Several other celebrities have also offered their support, including Avika Gor, Jayati Bhatia, Karanvir Sharma, Gauahar Khan, and Juhi Parmar. They have shared heartfelt messages, wishing her a swift recovery and encouraging her to remain hopeful.

Dipika's last appearance was on the first season of "Celebrity MasterChef India." She had to quit the show midway due to health issues.

While the surgery was initially scheduled for this week, it has been postponed due to Dipika experiencing chest congestion. Doctors are focusing on ensuring she regains her strength before proceeding with the procedure. Dipika has been discharged from the hospital after being admitted with a high fever, and her condition is improving.

Dipika's strength and positive attitude in the face of this diagnosis have been an inspiration to many. The entertainment industry and her fans continue to send their love and prayers for her speedy recovery, echoing Rajiv Adatia's sentiment that she is indeed a fighter who will overcome this challenge.
