The global K-pop sensation, BTS, is one step closer to a full reunion as members RM and V have officially completed their mandatory military service. The discharge ceremony took place on June 10, 2025, marking a momentous occasion for the artists and their devoted fanbase, ARMY. RM, also known as Kim Namjoon, and V, born Kim Taehyung, enlisted on December 11, 2023, and have diligently served their country for the past 18 months.

RM served in the military band of the 15th Infantry Division, while V was a member of the elite Special Duty Team (SDT) under the 2nd Corps Military Police. V's role in the SDT, a unit reserved for physically capable and highly trained individuals, highlights his dedication and commitment during his service.

Despite requests from their agency, BIGHIT MUSIC, to refrain from gathering at the discharge site, a large crowd of enthusiastic fans and media personnel welcomed RM and V back with cheers and applause. RM, in a stylish move, greeted fans by playing the "Detective Conan" theme on his saxophone, while V was seen holding large floral bouquets. Their photos and videos quickly spread across social media, generating immense excitement among fans worldwide.

BIGHIT MUSIC had earlier issued a statement emphasizing the importance of safety and requesting fans not to visit the discharge locations due to limited space and potential safety risks. The agency expressed gratitude for the unwavering support shown to RM, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook.

The return of RM and V signals the beginning of BTS's gradual return to full group activities. Jimin and Jungkook are scheduled to complete their service on June 11, while Suga, who served as a social service agent due to a shoulder injury, is expected to be discharged on June 21. Jin and J-Hope, the first two members to enlist, have already completed their service and resumed activities, further fueling anticipation for a full group comeback.

To celebrate the occasion, HYBE, the parent company of BigHit Music, has wrapped its headquarters in Seoul with BTS and ARMY logos and the phrase "WE ARE BACK," a message that will remain in place through June 29, coinciding with the group's debut anniversary on June 13.

RM expressed his eagerness to return to the stage and perform again soon, while V shared that his time in the military allowed him to rethink and compose his mind and body. He also conveyed his desire to reunite with ARMY as soon as possible and promised to return with truly amazing performances.

The discharge of RM and V, along with the upcoming returns of Jimin, Jungkook, and Suga, marks a significant step toward BTS's full-group return to the music scene. With FESTA 2025 around the corner, fans worldwide are eagerly anticipating what the future holds for the global superstars. The members have had solo experiences before coming back together as a team." With their solo ventures behind them, 2025 is shaping up to be the year BTS returns stronger than ever.
