Megastar Chiranjeevi and the versatile actress Nayanthara have joined forces once again for their upcoming film, tentatively titled "Mega157," directed by Anil Ravipudi. The film's shooting is currently underway in the scenic locales of Mussoorie, Uttarakhand. This marks Nayanthara's return to Tollywood and her third collaboration with Chiranjeevi after "Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy" and "Godfather."
The Mussoorie schedule commenced recently and is expected to last for approximately 10 days. Key sequences featuring Chiranjeevi, Nayanthara, and other supporting cast members like VTV Ganesh will be filmed during this period. The team also plans to can a special song sequence set against the backdrop of the hills. Sources suggest that high-impact emotional and romantic scenes will also be shot in Mussoorie.
The announcement of Nayanthara joining the project was made through a video on social media, where she was seen going through the script and recreating one of Chiranjeevi's dialogues. Chiranjeevi also expressed his excitement about the collaboration on social media, welcoming Nayanthara for their "hat-trick film."
"Mega157" is touted to be a commercial comedy entertainer with a blend of humor, emotions, and family drama. Director Anil Ravipudi, known for his films with mass appeal, is expected to showcase Chiranjeevi in a comical role reminiscent of his golden era in the 1990s and 2000s. Expectations are high, especially after Ravipudi's recent blockbuster, "Sankranthiki Vasthunnam."
The film boasts a strong technical team, with Sameer Reddy handling the cinematography, Bheems Ceciroleo composing the music, Tammiraju taking care of the editing, and AS Prakash leading the art direction. The story is co-written by S. Krishna and G. Adi Narayana.
Produced by Sahu Garapati and Sushmita Konidela under the banners of Shine Screens and Gold Box Entertainments, "Mega157" is slated for a Sankranthi 2026 release. The makers are aiming to wrap up the shooting by October 2025.
While Chiranjeevi has other projects in the pipeline, including "Vishwambhara" and a film with director Srikanth Odela, the focus remains on "Mega157" for now. With Chiranjeevi and Nayanthara teaming up in a visually appealing setting, the film is generating buzz and is expected to be a crowd-puller.
