The relationship between Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor remains a topic of fascination for Bollywood enthusiasts. The two actors, who were once one of the most talked-about couples in the industry, dated for several years before parting ways in 2007. While their breakup was widely publicized, the two have maintained a cordial relationship in the years since.

In the past, Kareena Kapoor had expressed a heartwarming sentiment about Shahid Kapoor's wedding. Before Shahid Kapoor tied the knot with Mira Rajput in 2015, there was considerable media buzz surrounding whether or not his former girlfriend, Kareena Kapoor Khan, would be invited. Kareena addressed the speculation with grace and maturity.

Reports initially suggested that Shahid had extended an invitation to Kareena and her husband, Saif Ali Khan. However, Kareena clarified that she had not received an invitation. Despite this, she conveyed her best wishes to Shahid. "I wish Shahid well, and I am sure Saif wishes him the same," she stated, emphasizing the importance of celebrating his happiness and not turning the event into a "soap opera." She highlighted that marriage is a beautiful journey and a moment of joy for him, and she hoped the media would respect that sentiment.

Kareena had revealed that Shahid had personally informed her about his upcoming wedding before making the announcement to the media. "We both performed at a recent event where he told me that he's getting married, before he told the media. I'm very happy for him," she said. This gesture indicated a level of respect and consideration between the former couple.

Kareena also expressed her belief in the institution of marriage, stating, "And I can vouch for marriage being cool." She conveyed that she and Saif would send a special gift to the newlyweds, wishing them well on their new journey together. "I see contentment on Shahid's face," Kareena commented, "It's a perfect time for him to get married. He wouldn't have taken this decision unless he was sure. I know he will make a wonderful husband because he is a wonderful person."

Both actors have moved on and built successful lives with their respective partners. Kareena is happily married to Saif Ali Khan and they have two sons, Taimur and Jeh. Shahid is married to Mira Rajput, and they have two children, Misha and Zain.

Despite their past, Kareena and Shahid have displayed a sense of mutual respect and maturity. They even shared screen space in the film "Udta Punjab" after their breakup, showcasing their professionalism. Their recent friendly interaction at the IIFA Awards 2025 also caught attention, where they were seen hugging and chatting, proving that they have indeed moved on.

Kareena's earlier comments about attending Shahid's wedding, even without an official invite, reflect her positive outlook and ability to maintain healthy relationships, irrespective of past romantic entanglements. It exemplifies her perspective on love, life, and the importance of celebrating others' happiness.
