Vikkas Manaktala is embarking on a new chapter in his career with his OTT debut in Neeraj Pandey's highly anticipated "Special Ops 2," set to premiere on July 11, 2025, on JioHotstar. This marks a significant milestone for the actor, who has spent 19 years honing his craft in the television industry.

Manaktala, who first graced television screens in 2006 with the popular show "Left Right Left," has since established himself as a versatile and dedicated actor. His transition to OTT signifies a desire to explore new dimensions as an artist and connect with a broader, global audience.

Reflecting on his role in "Special Ops 2," Manaktala emphasized the depth of preparation required. He explained that it wasn't merely about physical training, although that was certainly rigorous. The real challenge lay in "delving deep into the psyche of a special agent," understanding their immense mental fortitude, split-second decision-making processes, and the emotional toll of such a demanding life. He credits director Neeraj Pandey's genius for creating an environment that allowed him to fully immerse himself in the role and deliver his best performance. Manaktala expressed his gratitude for the opportunity and is embracing the positive reception he has received.

"Special Ops 2" delves into the escalating threat of cyber-terrorism. The plot revolves around Himmat Singh, portrayed by Kay Kay Menon, as he confronts a sophisticated digital adversary. With artificial intelligence becoming a crucial battleground, India, being the world's largest user of UPI, faces vulnerability to a potentially catastrophic global data breach.

The series boasts an ensemble cast, including Kay Kay Menon, Vinay Pathak, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Karan Tacker, Saiyami Kher, and Arif Zakaria, among others. "Special Ops 2" is produced by Shital Bhatia under Friday Storytellers and directed by Shivam Nair and Neeraj Pandey.

Manaktala's journey to this point has been one of perseverance and growth. After nearly two decades in television, his OTT debut is seen as a turning point, showcasing his depth and maturity as a performer in a high-stakes narrative. His role in "Special Ops 2" is anticipated to highlight his intensity and talent, further solidifying his position in the entertainment industry.
