Taylor Swift surprised fans with an unexpected performance of her hit song "Shake It Off" at a Tight Ends & Friends concert in Nashville on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. The concert was part of Tight End University, an annual three-day summer training camp founded by her boyfriend, NFL star Travis Kelce, along with George Kittle and Greg Olsen.
The pop superstar's appearance sent the crowd into a frenzy. Country singer Kane Brown, who was also performing at the event held at Brooklyn Bowl, initially teased the audience by announcing a "really, really, really special guest." Swift then took the stage, borrowing a guitar from Chase Rice, another performer at the event, and launching into an acoustic rendition of "Shake It Off." She even got Brown to play the tambourine. Swift reportedly told the crowd that the decision to perform with Kane Brown was made "three minutes ago".
Videos of the performance quickly went viral on social media, with fans sharing clips of Swift singing and interacting with the audience. The performance marked Swift's first live appearance since the conclusion of her massively successful Eras Tour on December 8, 2024, in Vancouver.
Swift and Kelce were seen together at the event, arriving in a black SUV. The couple also shared a sweet moment on the dance floor, slow dancing to a remix of "Shake It Off" at the Tight End University welcome event. A video posted on TikTok showed Kelce singing along to the song as he embraced Swift.
Swift's surprise performance wasn't just a treat for the fans; it was also a show of support for Kelce and his Tight End University. The event brings together 80 to 90 NFL tight ends for drills, film study, and learning about recovery and rehabilitation. The Tight Ends & Friends concert is the only event open to the public, with proceeds going to charity.
Following her performance, Swift and Kelce reportedly retreated to a private balcony where they mingled with athletes and guests. The appearance of Swift at the event further boosted the profile of Tight End University, which has grown in popularity since its inception in 2021. ESPN even provided live coverage of parts of the three-day event, featuring interviews with Kittle, Trey McBride, and Dallas Goedert.
