The highly anticipated "Hera Pheri 3" is generating buzz, especially with Suniel Shetty's recent comments emphasizing its appeal as a family film. The comedy franchise is set to reunite the original trio – Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty – after years of speculation, much to the delight of fans.
Suniel Shetty recently shared his thoughts on the film's atmosphere and why "Hera Pheri 3" is close to his heart. During a visit to Shirdi Sai Baba, the actor spoke about the film, describing it as a complete family entertainer. In a conversation uploaded on the Sai Safar YouTube channel, Shetty stated, "Ye family ki film hai. Shayad wo ek film jahaan aap sab milke ek saath dekh sakte ho. Agar ek baar aap TV chaalu kar dete ho to uske baad aapko tension lene ki zarurat nahi hai, sharmaane ki zarurat nahi hai. Aapko pata hai ki log sirf hasne hi hasne waale hain. Chhup ke TV ya mobile phone dekhne ki zarurat nahi hai. Parivaar se chhupa ke nahi". In essence, he conveyed that it's the kind of film where families can watch together without feeling awkward or needing to hide. He emphasized that viewers can relax and enjoy the humor without any embarrassment.
Shetty further added, "Waisi hi filmein hum banate hain. Hum waisi filmein karte aaye hain jo hum chaahe ki parivar dekhe. Aur ye Hera Pheri bhi waise hi hogi". This highlights the team's commitment to creating films suitable for family viewing, suggesting that "Hera Pheri 3" will follow the same path.
The road to "Hera Pheri 3" has been marked by some turbulence. In May 2025, Paresh Rawal's initial announcement of his exit created uncertainty among fans. Rumors circulated regarding disagreements and issues over payment. However, these issues have been resolved, and Paresh Rawal is officially back as Baburao Apte.
Adding to the anticipation, producer Firoz Nadiadwala credited the reunion to the "love, respect, and kind guidance" of Sajid Nadiadwala and Ahmed Khan. He also acknowledged the support of Priyadarshan, Paresh Rawal, and Suniel Shetty. Nadiadwala expressed optimism for creating a "good, happy movie" and another entertaining installment in the "Hera Pheri" franchise.
Suniel Shetty also reacted to Paresh Rawal's re-entry, quipping that he would only speak about the film after its release. He did, however, reiterate that the film would be a family entertainer, much like the previous two installments.
Earlier, Suniel Shetty had shared his experience of shooting the promo for "Hera Pheri 3" with Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal, remarking that it felt as if no time had passed. He expressed his shock at Rawal's initial exit, emphasizing the excitement the film generated among the cast, their families, and fans.
The "Hera Pheri" series has become a cult classic in Bollywood. The first film, "Hera Pheri" (2000), was directed by Priyadarshan, while the second, "Phir Hera Pheri" (2006), was directed by Neeraj Vora. The series revolves around the characters Raju, Shyam, and Baburao, played by Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal, respectively.
