Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are set to reunite on screen after 17 years in a new thriller directed by Priyadarshan. The film, titled Haiwaan, is generating considerable buzz as it brings together three prominent names in Bollywood.

Haiwaan, which translates to "beast" in English, is described as an edge-of-the-seat thriller. A source close to the project mentioned that the title perfectly encapsulates the film's subject and Priyadarshan's vision for it. The film promises a gripping narrative with intense roles for both Akshay and Saif.

The two actors were last seen together in the 2008 film Tashan. Before that, they starred in several successful movies together, including Main Khiladi Tu Anari (1994), Yeh Dillagi (1994), Tu Chor Main Sipahi (1996), and Keemat (1998). Their on-screen camaraderie was a hit with audiences in the 90s, and their reunion is highly anticipated.

According to reports, both Akshay and Saif were immediately on board after reading the script. Filming is scheduled to commence in August 2025, with a theatrical release planned for 2026.

Priyadarshan, known for directing hit comedies like Hera Pheri, Hulchul, and Bhagam Bhag, is also reuniting with Akshay Kumar for Haiwaan. The director and actor are also working together on Bhoot Bangla, a horror-comedy slated for release on April 2, 2026. Akshay and Priyadarshan have a history of successful collaborations, including films like Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Garam Masala, and De Dana Dan.

Akshay Kumar's recent projects include Kesari Chapter 2 and Housefull 5, while Saif Ali Khan was last seen in the Netflix film Jewel Thief.

Haiwaan is expected to be a thrilling cinematic experience, blending action, thrill, and drama. The film is produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner. Cinematography is by Ayananka Bose, and the music is composed by Vishal–Shekhar.
