Novak Djokovic, the 38-year-old Serbian superstar, is navigating his way through Wimbledon 2025, aiming to equal Roger Federer's record of eightGentlemen's Singles titles. Having secured his 100th tour-level title in Geneva in May, Djokovic is looking to add another Wimbledon trophy to his collection, his first having come in 2011.

In the second round, Djokovic faced Great Britain's Dan Evans, defeating him in straight sets 6-3, 6-2, 6-0. This victory marked Djokovic's 99th match win at Wimbledon and his 19th third-round appearance, surpassing Federer for the most third-round appearances by a male player in the Open Era. After the match, Djokovic humorously noted that his 19 appearances were "almost as much as Sinner and Alcaraz have years in their lives".

Djokovic expressed satisfaction with his performance against Evans, stating, "I was preparing well for the match, technically and tactically. I knew what I needed to do, and I executed perfectly". He acknowledged the challenges of facing a British player in Britain, praising Evans' talent and touch, particularly his slice backhand on the grass. Djokovic's win against Evans also served as revenge for his loss to Evans at the 2021 Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, leveling their head-to-head series.

Standing in Djokovic's path in the third round is fellow Serb and Davis Cup teammate, Miomir Kecmanovic. Djokovic is the headline act on Centre Court facing Kecmanovic. Representing Serbia, Djokovic led the national tennis team to its first Davis Cup title in 2010.

Djokovic is focused on the present, aiming to win another Grand Slam title. He stated he doesn't have time "to pause to reflect" on his accomplishments. He joked about reflecting on his rivalries with Federer and Nadal while "sipping margarita on the beach" when he retires.

Earlier in the tournament, Djokovic faced a scare in the first round against Alexandre Muller, winning 6-1, 6-7(7), 6-2, 6-2. Despite feeling unwell during the match, he recovered to secure the win, marking his 20th consecutive opening match win at Wimbledon.

With the potential of a semi-final showdown against world number one Jannik Sinner, Djokovic continues his quest for a record-equaling eighth Wimbledon title.
