Gittens Joins Chelsea for £55m as Forest Secure Jesus: Major Transfer Moves in Premier League

Chelsea have made a significant move in the transfer market, securing the services of Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund for a reported £51.5 million. The 20-year-old winger has signed a long-term contract with the Blues, committing his future to the club until 2032. Gittens, an England U21 international, contributed 12 goals and five assists in 48 games for Dortmund last season, showcasing his potential and attacking prowess.

Chelsea's pursuit of Gittens comes after their decision not to permanently sign Jadon Sancho. Gittens had also attracted interest from Bayern Munich, but ultimately chose to move to Stamford Bridge. Dortmund confirmed the transfer agreement had been reached in Florida, where both teams were participating in the Club World Cup.

Gittens' journey in football has seen him spend time in the youth sectors of Reading, Chelsea and Manchester City before moving to Borussia Dortmund in 2020. He made his professional debut for the German club in April 2022 and has since made 107 appearances.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest are also making moves to bolster their squad. Recent reports suggest they are closing in on signing Juventus duo Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangula for €22 million. Forest have reportedly reached an agreement with Juventus for both players, although personal terms still need to be finalized. In addition to Weah and Mbangula, Nottingham Forest has reportedly completed the signing of Jair Cunha from Botafogo, with the defender signing a five-year contract. The transfer fee for Cunha is believed to be around €12 million.

In other news for the club, Neco Williams has signed a new deal with Nottingham Forest until 2029. Willy Boly has also signed a new one-year deal at Nottingham Forest. Tyler Bindon has joined Championship side Sheffield United on a season-long loan.

These transfer activities indicate both Chelsea and Nottingham Forest are aiming to strengthen their squads for the upcoming season. Chelsea are looking to bolster their attack with the addition of Gittens, while Nottingham Forest are aiming to add depth and quality to their squad with the potential signings of Weah, Mbangula and Cunha.
