Amitabh Bachchan is brimming with pride as his son, Abhishek Bachchan, garners widespread acclaim for his performance in his latest film, Kaalidhar Laapata. The veteran actor has been actively sharing his thoughts and appreciation on social media, expressing his overwhelming joy at the positive reception the film is receiving.

Kaalidhar Laapata, now streaming on ZEE5, is a heartwarming drama directed by Madhumita, featuring Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role alongside child actor Daivik Baghela. The film tells the story of a disillusioned man who rediscovers purpose through an unexpected bond with a spirited young boy. As they navigate emotional and physical challenges, their connection deepens, prompting them to question their desire to return to their previous lives.

Amitabh Bachchan shared a glowing review from veteran filmmaker Tinnu Anand, who praised Abhishek's performance as "absolutely brilliant". Overwhelmed by the positive feedback, Amitabh tweeted, "With the mountains of praise coming for Abhishek and the film Kaalidhar Laapata… mountains of pride fill my heart and mind for my SON". He also retweeted Tinnu Anand's message: "Sirjee, as I don't have Abhishek's number, could you please congratulate him from my side? He is absolutely brilliant in Kaalidhar Laapata. Warmth".

An in-house critic from Times Now lauded Abhishek's performance in Kaalidhar Laapata, highlighting his emotional depth and ability to bring life and connection to the screen. The review praised the film's beautiful storyline and the actors' sincere portrayal of emotions, noting its potential to resonate with viewers on a personal level, particularly as it builds to an emotionally moving conclusion.

The film has resonated with audiences, with many taking to social media to express their admiration for Abhishek's performance. One user wrote, "Truly well deserved! Abhishek has delivered a phenomenal performance—so proud to see him shine brighter with every role". Another commented, "Abhishek is fortunate to have a father like you in today's time".

This isn't the first time Amitabh Bachchan has publicly expressed his pride in Abhishek's work. In March 2025, he lauded Abhishek's performance in the dance-drama Be Happy, calling it "extraordinary". He wrote on X, "what an honour for you Abhishek .. proud of you .. and today saw BE HAPPY .. such an extraordinary performance .. love you". Be Happy, directed by Remo D'Souza, premiered on Amazon Prime Video on March 14 and tells the story of a single father and his daughter who dreams of performing on a dance reality show. Amitabh praised Abhishek's ability to seamlessly transition between different characters, applauding his performance in Be Happy.

In November 2024, Amitabh reviewed Abhishek's film I Want To Talk, directed by Shoojit Sircar, expressing that the film completely soaks you in its world and that he didn't see Abhishek in the film, he only saw his character Arjun Sen. He penned a heartfelt note on his blog, praising Abhishek's portrayal of a man facing a terminal illness.

Amitabh Bachchan has consistently been a strong supporter of Abhishek's career, often sharing heartfelt posts on social media to commend his performances. His latest expression of pride for Kaalidhar Laapata is a testament to the strong bond between father and son, and his unwavering belief in Abhishek's talent.
