Anshula Kapoor, daughter of film producer Boney Kapoor and sister of actor Arjun Kapoor, recently announced her engagement to screenwriter Rohan Thakkar. The proposal took place in New York City's Central Park, in front of the Belvedere Castle. Anshula shared the news on her Instagram account with photos of the proposal.
Boney Kapoor has expressed his immense joy and excitement regarding his daughter's engagement. He stated that it was the "best news" he had heard in some time and wished that his late mother, Nirmal Kapoor, could have been alive to witness the occasion. He is now eagerly anticipating Anshula and Rohan's return home so that the family can celebrate the engagement in Mumbai. Boney also mentioned that the family is looking forward to discussing the wedding date with the couple.
Anshula and Rohan met on a dating app in 2022. Anshula shared that they started talking on a random Tuesday at 1:15 AM and spoke until 6 AM that morning. She added that Rohan proposed at exactly 1:15 AM India time, three years later. In her Instagram post, Anshula wrote that she had never been the girl who believed in fairytales, but what Rohan gave her was intentional, thoughtful, real, and "us". She ended her post by saying, "I'm engaged to my best friend!!! My safe place. My person. Fav boy, fav city… and now, my fav YES!".
Arjun Kapoor also shared his happiness on Instagram, expressing how much he missed his mother on this special day and wishing the couple a "happily ever after". Anshula's half-sisters, Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor, also shared their excitement and love for the couple in the comments section of Anshula's post. Khushi Kapoor commented, "Crying," while Janhvi Kapoor wrote, "My sister is engaged, the best for the best,".
To celebrate their engagement, Anshula and Rohan had their first meal at Shake Shack, reminiscing about their first conversation, which revolved around their shared love for the shroom burger.
Anshula recently appeared on the reality show 'The Traitors', hosted by Karan Johar. She was eliminated from the show just before the grand finale.
