Kelly Osbourne and Sid Wilson are engaged after a heartwarming proposal that took place during Ozzy Osbourne's final Black Sabbath performance at Villa Park in Birmingham on Saturday, July 5th. The Slipknot rocker, 48, asked Kelly, 40, to marry him in front of her family and friends.
The proposal occurred backstage at the concert. Wilson, holding Kelly's hand, declared, "Kelly, you know I love you more than anything in the world". Ozzy jokingly interjected, "F--- off, you're not marrying my daughter," which drew laughter from the crowd. Undeterred, Wilson continued, "Nothing would make me happier than to spend the rest of my life with you,” before getting down on one knee and asking, “In front of your family and all of our friends, Kelly, will you marry me?". Kelly, visibly shocked and emotional, nodded yes and embraced Wilson as their loved ones cheered. Kelly later posted a video of the proposal on her Instagram page, captioning it, “Oh and this happened yesterday!”.
The engagement coincided with a major milestone for the Osbourne family, as Ozzy Osbourne and the original members of Black Sabbath, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward, reunited for one last show in their hometown. The concert, titled "Back to the Beginning," featured other performances by bands like Guns N' Roses, Metallica, Slayer and Tool. Ozzy, who revealed his Parkinson's disease diagnosis in 2020, performed from a black winged throne.
Kelly and Sid's relationship began as a friendship that spanned over two decades. They initially met in 1999 when Slipknot toured with Ozzfest, the music festival founded by the Osbourne family. The pair officially started dating in January 2022. In February 2022, Kelly celebrated their relationship with a Valentine's Day post, writing, "After 23 years of friendship I can't believe where we have ended up! You are my best friend, my soulmate and I am so deeply in love with you Sidney George Wilson".
The couple welcomed their first child, a son named Sidney, later in 2022. Sharon Osbourne revealed the baby's arrival during an appearance on The Talk in January 2023.
The engagement marks a new chapter for Kelly and Sid, solidifying their long-lasting bond. It also signifies a poignant moment for the Osbourne family, blending personal joy with a celebration of Ozzy's legacy with Black Sabbath.
