After a long hiatus, Smriti Irani is set to reprise her iconic role as Tulsi Virani in the reboot of "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi". The show, which originally aired on Star Plus from July 3, 2000, to November 6, 2008, is making a comeback after 25 years, much to the delight of its fans.

The first promo of "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2" has been released, showcasing Smriti Irani in her signature avatar as Tulsi. The promo evokes a sense of nostalgia, with a family reminiscing about the show's legacy and expressing their excitement about Tulsi's return. In the promo, Smriti Irani is seen offering water to the Tulsi plant, a signature scene from the original series.

Smriti Irani's return marks her comeback to acting after a considerable gap. Reflecting on the show's impact, Irani stated that "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" is more than just a show; it is a shared memory that embodies family, faith, and the connections that bind generations. She emphasized that the show not only brought her commercial success but also connected her with millions of homes, securing a place in the emotional lives of an entire generation.

Amar Upadhyay, who played the role of Mihir Virani, is also returning for the reboot, reigniting the on-screen chemistry that captivated audiences two decades ago. Upadhyay expressed his excitement about being back on set, reminiscing about old memories.

"Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" was one of the most influential and successful Indian soap operas of all time. Produced by Ekta Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms, the show aired over 1,800 episodes and became a household name. The series deeply resonated with viewers by capturing the everyday dramas, joys, and conflicts within a joint family. The return of "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" aims to rekindle the nostalgia and emotions that once united the nation. Ekta Kapoor, the visionary producer behind the show, is leading this revival, promising to redefine prime time once again with relatable stories and characters.

Smriti Irani sees her return to the show as an opportunity to contribute to India's creative industries and believes in the power of storytelling to spark change, preserve culture, and build empathy. Besides Smriti Irani and Amar Upadhyay, Hiten Tejwani and Gauri Pradhan are also confirmed to be part of the new season.

The reboot of "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi" is scheduled to air on Star Plus. While initially expected to launch in early July, production faced slight delays but is now back on track.
