A family of four from Hyderabad tragically died in a car accident in the United States while on vacation. The family, identified as Sree Venkat, his wife Tejaswini, and their two children, were involved in a devastating collision with a truck on July 7, 2025.

The accident occurred while the family was returning to Dallas after visiting relatives in Atlanta. Their vehicle was struck by a truck, causing it to catch fire. All four family members died at the scene due to the impact and subsequent fire. The intensity of the fire resulted in the bodies being severely charred, requiring DNA testing for identification.

Local authorities in the United States are working with the Indian Consulate to coordinate the repatriation of the remains to Hyderabad. In Hyderabad, the extended family is collaborating with Indian government representatives to ensure the final rites are performed with dignity and in accordance with traditions.

In a separate incident, two Indian students from Cleveland State University, Manav Patel, 20, and Saurav Prabhakar, 23, also died in a car crash in New York on May 10. The accident occurred in East Cocalico Township, Lancaster County, where their vehicle veered off the road, struck a tree, and crashed into a bridge. Prabhakar, who was driving, and Patel died at the scene, while another passenger was injured. The Indian Consulate in New York expressed condolences for the loss of the students.
