Karan Veer Mehra is generating buzz with his menacing first look as Zehraak in the upcoming romantic-action drama, Silaa. The film, directed by Omung Kumar, known for movies such as Mary Kom and Sarbjit, stars Harshvardhan Rane as Virat and Sadia Khateeb as Silaa. Mehra's portrayal of the antagonist, Zehraak, marks a significant departure from his previous roles.

The first look of Karan Veer Mehra as Zehraak was revealed on July 12, 2025, generating considerable excitement among fans. The poster depicts Mehra in a fierce, warrior-like avatar, complete with long, messy hair and a blood-stained body, holding a blood-smeared sword. His intense expression adds to the menacing aura of the character. Karan shared the poster on his Instagram with the caption, "Khud hi khuda, khud hi insaaf! Khauf ka naya naam - ZEHRAAK". Fans have responded enthusiastically, describing his look as "khatarnaak" (dangerous).

Silaa is penned by Sameer Joshi, with dialogues by Aarambh M Singh. The film's music is composed by Ankit Tiwari, Sachet-Parampara, Shreyas Puranik, and Alexia Evellyn. It is produced by Omung Kumar, Umesh Kumar Bansal, Pragati Deshmukh, Himanshu Tiwari, Ajay Singh, Dhananjay Singh, Abhishek Ankur, and Captain Rahul Bali. Rahhat Shah Kazmi is co-producing.

Karan Veer Mehra's journey to Silaa has been marked by diverse roles in television, film, and web series. He began his career with the show Remix in 2004. He is also known for his role in the television series Pavitra Rishta. Mehra has also appeared in films like Ragini MMS 2, Mere Dad Ki Maruti, and Blood Money, and web series such as Sacred Games and Amen. Recently, Mehra won Bigg Boss 18 and the stunt-based show Khatron Ke Khiladi 14.

Director Omung Kumar noticed Karan Veer Mehra's intensity during Bigg Boss, which led to him being cast as the antagonist in Silaa. Mehra himself has stated that this role is unlike anything he has done before.

Silaa began filming in July 2025. Harshvardhan Rane unveiled the first look of the film on June 30, 2025, featuring him and Sadia Khateeb. The film is described as a romantic-action drama with a love story that takes a dark turn. Silaa is backed by Zee Studios in association with Blue Lotus Pictures, Stark Entertainment, and Innovations India. The film is expected to release in 2026.
